About Us

Formica takes its name from an islet of the archipelago of the Egadi islands, historically known for its tuna fishery, where Federica's grandfather worked as a Rais. This project was born from my passion for the sea and cooking. A simple place in the centre of Favignana where you can enjoy seafood cuisine that travels on a unique culinary combination formed by the two identities that created it: the Asian one of Taka and the Sicilian one of Federica. Research, Quality and Respect for raw materials are the basis of Formica's cuisine. The typical productions of the island are valued, collaborating with local fishermen and farmers by promoting the values of ethical and sustainable cuisine. The menu changes daily based on the day's catch and the products' seasonality. The respect and the typical oriental techniques with which fresh fish is treated make it the absolute protagonist of the dishes. Chef Kokichi Takahashi uses all his experience, talent and personality to offer you a unique experience.
