About Us

We are on a journey into Sicily, starting station: Marzamemi. Our story and the journey that has been exploring the Val di Noto for twenty years, touching charming cities and countryside, sailing between the Sicilian islands, begins in the tuna fishery of this fishing village. Marzamemi, Noto and Vendicari, Syracuse and Etna, the island of Currents, Burgio, Modica, Linosa. These are where the novel of Sicily flows: our kitchen, the cellar, and the products of our shop tell them. Liccamuciula is not a traditional restaurant where you order pasta with clams. Instead, it is the Sicilian cuisine of the past, with the pantry always complete, the vegetable garden in the back, and the market bags on the table. Home cooks and imaginative cooks with their heads in their books make almond biscuits and tomato chutney, the "ghetto" of tuna and the Sicilian cheesecake with cannoli and cannoli and pistachio. Sicilian cuisine brings together grandmothers and granddaughters, ginger and caponata. One is Sicilian in this, too: in the contamination and the openness.
